A mining game on Elysium · rules from ORE V4

One block wins
every minute.

The miners on the winning block get their THASOS back, then share 7% of every losing stake and the round's kHYPE reward. The other 24 blocks get 90% back.

7%
of every losing stake goes to the miners on the winning block
1%
of every losing stake goes to THASOS stakers, paid in THASOS
70%
of THASOS's share of trading fees goes into the kHYPE Reward Pool

Try a round

This board runs the mine's rules in your browser. It starts at 0. Pick blocks and press Play: simulated miners stake, then one block wins. No wallet is involved.

Round 1

Pick blocks, then press Play

Every block starts at 0. When you press Play, simulated miners stake on the board, then one of the 25 blocks wins. SOLO marks this round's 10 solo blocks.

The rules

Eight rules run the game, and the contracts enforce all eight. The docs work through each one with examples.

  1. 01

    The board

25 blocks and one winner per round. A round lasts 60 seconds from its first stake, so an empty board waits for its first miner.

  2. 02

    Your stake

Put THASOS on as many blocks as you like, one stake per block per round. Pay from your wallet or from THASOS already in the mine.

  3. 03

    The draw

When the time is up, one block wins at random: 1 in 25, whatever is on it. If no draw arrives within an hour, every stake in the round is refunded in full.

  4. 04

    The payout

The winning block gets its stakes back in full, plus 7% of every losing stake, shared by stake. Losing blocks get 90% back. Of the other 3%, 2% is burned and 1% goes to THASOS stakers.

  5. 05

    The kHYPE reward

Each round pays 1/10,000 of the Reward Pool: 5/6 to the miners on the winning block and 1/6 to the Motherlode. A round with less than the minimum THASOS on the board pays no kHYPE.

  6. 06

    Solo blocks

10 blocks per round are solo, tagged on the board before you stake. When a solo block wins, one miner on it takes the whole kHYPE reward, drawn by stake. The THASOS pot is still shared.

  7. 07

    The Motherlode

Every paying round adds 1/6 of its reward to the Motherlode and has a 1 in 500 chance to open it. When it opens, the miners on the winning block share all of it, by stake.

  8. 08

    Claiming

Withdrawing THASOS is free. Each kHYPE claim pays 10% to the miners who haven't claimed yet, in proportion to what they hold.

Trading fees pay for the kHYPE

kHYPE is HYPE staked with Kinetiq. 70% of THASOS's share of trading fees goes into the Reward Pool, and every round's kHYPE is paid from that pool.

  1. Step 1Trades

Every THASOS trade on Ascend pays a 1% fee. THASOS's share of it, 25% or 50%, goes to the protocol's fee contract.

  2. Step 270 / 30

70% goes into the Reward Pool. 30% goes to the treasury in kHYPE, which pays the team without selling THASOS.

  3. Step 3The pool

The kHYPE stays in the Reward Pool and keeps its Kinetiq staking yield. Round rewards are the only way out of it.

  4. Step 41/10,000

Each round pays 1/10,000 of the pool: 5/6 to the winning block, 1/6 into the Motherlode.

Where the 10% goes

7%
The pot. The miners on the winning block share it, by stake.
2%
Burned, which takes it out of the supply.
1%
Paid to THASOS stakers.

The winning block keeps 100% of its own stakes.

If you stake 100 THASOS

On one block268 back if it wins (1 round in 25), 90 back if it loses.
4 on each of the 25 blocks97.12 back every round, plus a share of the kHYPE.
Average, either way97.12 back per round, before the kHYPE reward.

These numbers assume an even board: every block holds the same amount of THASOS. The docs show each step.

Stakers share 1% of every losing stake

Paid in THASOS, in proportion to what each staker has staked. You don't pick blocks, there is no lockup, and you can withdraw or claim at any time.

Example

If 10,000,000 THASOS sits on losing blocks in a day and 100,000,000 THASOS is staked, staking 10,000,000 THASOS (1% of the supply) earns 10,000 THASOS that day.

1% × 10,000,000 × 10,000,000 ÷ 100,000,000 = 10,000

Nothing mints THASOS

The whole supply is created once, on Ascend. The mine pays its rewards in kHYPE, so the THASOS supply can only go down.

Team allocation

Questions

What is kHYPE?

kHYPE is HYPE staked with Kinetiq. It earns staking rewards, so each kHYPE is worth more HYPE as rewards come in. You can sell it on a DEX, or unstake it with Kinetiq, which takes 8 to 9 days.

Does it matter which block I pick?

Every block has the same 1 in 25 chance. But if it wins, a block with less THASOS on it gives each of its miners a bigger share of the pot and of the kHYPE.

Can I lose THASOS?

Yes. A losing block costs you 10% of what you put on it. If the board is even, a round costs 2.88% of your stake on average, before the kHYPE reward.

How is the winning block picked?

From a random seed that only exists after the round has closed. With Pyth Entropy, Pyth's provider commits to its numbers in advance. With operator randomness, the operator reveals one link of a hash chain it committed to long before, mixed with the hash of the block that closed the round. Either way nobody can choose the winner. If the seed never comes, the round is refunded in full.

Is this ORE?

It follows the rules of ORE V4, the open-source mining game on Solana: the same 25-block board, the same draw and the same Motherlode. You mine with THASOS instead of SOL, and the rewards are kHYPE bought with trading fees instead of newly created tokens.

Does the team hold THASOS?

The team gets no THASOS allocation and there is no reserve. The team is paid from 30% of the trading fees, in kHYPE.

What can the team change?

It can pause new stakes, set the round length between 20 and 600 seconds, set the minimums and switch the randomness provider. It can't move your stakes, your winnings or the Reward Pool, change the payout rules, or upgrade the contracts.

Is it allowed where I live?

THASOS is a game of chance, and some countries regulate games like it. Check your local rules before you play.
